With DuckDB installed, this asks how many registered gyroplanes actually flew:
duckdb -c "SELECT count(*) AS registered,
count(*) FILTER (WHERE observed_class <> 'not_observed') AS heard
FROM 'https://data.aether-flight.com/v/RELEASE/aircraft.parquet'
WHERE aircraft_type = 'Gyroplane'" Files

What's in each table
aircraft.parquet- One row per N-number on the FAA registry snapshot: registration fields, and what adsb.lol observed in the window (days, hours, legs, first and last seen, home airport, LADD flag).
aircraft_day/YYYY-MM.parquet- One row per aircraft per day: points by source, observed airborne minutes, legs, callsigns, last ground position.
legs/YYYY-MM.parquet- One row per observed leg: start and end time and position, departure and arrival airport when the aircraft was seen low near one.
schools.json- Flight schools and clubs: fleets and rates from each school's own website (with the source page), FAA registry matches, and observed activity.
unmatched.parquet- US-block addresses heard on ADS-B that are not on the registry snapshot. Not an estimate of privacy-address use.
results.json,training.json,privacy.json- The frozen numbers behind the findings, with definitions and window.
